Choose Toggl Track when participation is the hard part
Toggl Track gives people timer, manual, calendar and private automatic-recall routes. That flexibility matters when consultants, designers, developers or other knowledge workers forget to record fragmented work. It is the better default if adding controls would make adoption worse.
Choose Clockify when the process needs more controls
Clockify stretches further across approvals, attendance, overtime, invoices, GPS, profitability and monitoring features. That breadth can replace several smaller tools, but only if the team selects and governs the right plan. Screenshots or GPS should be an explicit policy decision, not an incidental upgrade.
