monday dev Review and Pricing: Sprints, Roadmaps and GitHub
monday dev connects roadmaps, sprint work, retrospectives and bugs in a planning surface that can serve engineering and its product or business partners. A roadmap can describe upcoming features while linked task progress gives stakeholders a way to follow the work behind those commitments.
This is a separate product from monday work management. The reason to consider dev is its software-delivery workflow, including connected sprints and GitHub context. Explore that workflow on the relevant dev plan before using the lowest advertised seat price as a budget.
Connected sprints and visible commitments
The sprint solution links Tasks, Sprints, Epics and a hidden Capacity board. Teams select backlog work, set sprint dates and goals, and can carry unfinished tasks forward or return them to the backlog. Kanban includes work-in-progress limits. These mechanics connect a planning conversation to the work selected for execution.
The supplied connections need preserving: copying individual boards can break the sprint system, and deleting its solution folder destroys hidden capacity data. Current documentation also says manual sprint start or completion loses automated features such as summaries and agile insights. Evaluate that behavior if manual ceremonies are essential. A current sprint must finish before the next begins, and started or completed sprints cannot be deleted.
monday dev pricing: Standard or Pro for your team?
Use monday dev pricing for up-to-date prices in your currency and billing term. Budget for a minimum of three seats, even if fewer people will use the product. There is a fourteen-day trial, but monday dev is not included in the ongoing Free Plan.
Standard is the initial tier for sprint management, GitHub and a single roadmap. It includes 250 automation and 250 integration actions monthly. Pro adds cross-team roadmaps, private boards, time tracking and agile reporting, with separate 25,000-action monthly allowances. Feature-specific documentation places Agile Insights on Pro and Enterprise. Enterprise is quoted; exact pricing above forty users also requires sales contact. Check the dev pricing page, required actions and actual AI-credit packaging together.
GitHub events, migration and assistance
Installing the GitHub app requires monday account-admin and GitHub organization-admin rights. Documented recipes create items from GitHub issues and change status on pull-request events when an item ID is referenced. Git UI can show branches, commits, pull requests and CI/CD status in an item card. Review the installed permission scopes and test the selected recipe; check any required two-way field updates or historical records separately.
The older Jira Cloud connector is not retroactive without updates to existing issues. The newer two-way app is a separate beta and cannot migrate an existing integration setup. If switching, rehearse history and duplicate handling. Support includes 24/7 help and paid partners for custom integration assistance; agree any required response target before purchase. Engineering build, test and deployment systems remain necessary beyond the planning status.

ClickUp offers another sprint approach built around Lists, ClickApps and a locked forecast. Jira emphasizes configurable issue processes and linked delivery information. Compare the workflows in the software-team guide.
For monday dev, use the trial to walk through one backlog, a GitHub event and an incomplete-sprint rollover while preserving the solution structure. Include the product stakeholder's view and expected monthly action volume.
