Zoho Projects Review: Features, Plans and Pricing

Zoho Projects brings tasks, dependency scheduling, time logs, budgets and collaboration into a dedicated project tool. It gives teams a way to organize commitments and connect the schedule with the time and money involved in delivery.

The product is worth exploring both as a project system in its own right and alongside other Zoho applications. Start with a project whose steps depend on one another: that makes the scheduling, ownership and reporting requirements more concrete than a list of disconnected tasks.

Planning work that has an order

Premium and above support dependencies within a project. Four relationship types, including finish-to-start, describe how tasks relate, and hard or soft links can be configured. This lets a team represent delivery sequences rather than simply assigning independent due dates.

Enterprise and Ultimate add dependencies across projects. That distinction matters if a launch in one project waits for work managed elsewhere. Map those relationships before choosing a tier: a system that serves one team's schedule may need a higher plan once several projects share commitments.

Time logs and budgets provide another view of the same delivery work. Together with task collaboration, they make Zoho Projects relevant to teams that want to coordinate execution and track effort within one product. A useful pilot includes a dependency change, a time entry and the reporting your team uses to make decisions.

Zoho Projects pricing: Free and the useful paid plans

Free allows five users, three projects and 5GB storage. Visit Zoho Projects for up-to-date Premium, Enterprise and Ultimate pricing in your region. Premium is the starting paid comparison for time logs, budgets and within-project dependencies; cross-project dependencies require Enterprise or Ultimate.

The billing structure still gives you a useful basis for a quote. Subscription Details exposes the account's offer, with users and add-ons adjusted separately. Paid plans have client add-ons; Enterprise and Ultimate offer read-only/resource add-ons, and Ultimate has Lite Users. External or read-only participation should not be assumed to be unlimited or free.

Request a total for the people who will manage tasks, the clients who need access and the reporting or cross-project requirements that determine the plan.

Connecting Zoho and other applications

Slack, Teams, Office 365 and Google Apps are listed across tiers. Zoho Books, Invoice and Analytics connections require a paid Projects plan; Zoho Desk and Directory require Enterprise or above. Other Zoho applications are not automatically bundled with the Projects subscription.

For a team already using the Zoho suite, those connections could reduce repeated entry, but the actual benefit depends on the information exchanged. Establish the required license on both sides and demonstrate the intended data flow. Listed availability is not evidence of two-way synchronization or tested connector reliability.

All tiers list import routes from Microsoft Project, XLS, CSV, JSON, Jira and Basecamp; paid plans add issue imports. Scheduled exports appear on Enterprise and Ultimate. If switching, use those routes to import a representative project. Check a project's dates, relationships, users and history before treating the imported result as ready for daily use.

Support with stated first-response targets

Classic support is included. The current product table publishes a maximum first response of eight hours Monday through Friday. Chat is available for eight weekday hours and is excluded from Free.

Premium support costs 20% of the organization's license fee and requires at least ten users on Enterprise or Ultimate. It adds onboarding, remote assistance and 24-hour weekday chat and phone, with a three-hour weekday first-response target. Those are first-response commitments, not resolution times or weekend coverage.

Alternatives and verdict

ClickUp offers a broader working environment with Docs, chat and native time recording alongside tasks. Asana is another candidate for cross-functional coordination, with portfolios and portfolio workload on Advanced. The wider project management comparison helps separate those workflow choices from the eventual quote.

Zoho Projects deserves consideration when schedules, time and budgets need to sit beside everyday task collaboration, particularly when its documented Zoho connections match your existing tools. The next step is a regional quote and a representative project demonstration. Visit Zoho Projects to confirm the required tier, participant add-ons and support package together.
