MeisterTask Review: Task Boards, Plans and Team Costs

MeisterTask organizes project work around tasks moving through sections. Checklists, dates and fields keep the details beside the assignment, while section-based automations can help pass work to the next person. Business adds subtasks and timeline planning, including a view across multiple projects.

That combination is a good fit when your team wants to see where work stands and make recurring handoffs more consistent. Start by matching one familiar process to its sections and task details.

Working through a project

A section can represent a stage in your process. MeisterTask documents automations that assign a task or email collaborators when work moves between sections. This can make the transition from preparation to review explicit without relying entirely on a separate message. The useful setup work is deciding what each section means, who takes responsibility next and which details belong on the task.

Checklists can capture the steps needed to finish an assignment. For deeper planning, Business provides subtasks, Timeline and a multi-project timeline beyond Pro. Teams that need to divide deliverables and view dates across projects should evaluate those Business features directly, rather than judging the product only by its task board.

MeisterTask pricing: team plans and collaboration

Basic users have three editable projects within their own team. Invitations from another paying team do not count toward that limit. Basic users can observe paid features without creating or editing them, and can use existing automations. This allows some collaboration across subscription boundaries, but a MeisterTask Team itself must share one plan.

Business project roles distinguish Content Manager, Contributor, Guest, Commenter and Viewer. A Guest can access and edit assigned or watched tasks; a Commenter can discuss work without altering the task. These differences matter if a client should contribute to selected work or a stakeholder should only comment. A restricted role does not by itself establish that the person is free of charge.

Visit MeisterTask for up-to-date pricing for the team plan you need. Include the billing term and the roles required by outside collaborators in the quote. Choose the plan for those permissions and the projects your team must edit, then compare the total with other task-board tools.

What the trial can show you

The 14-day Business trial applies to the team and requires no payment details. It provides a way to examine Business planning with colleagues before purchasing. External sharing is unavailable during the trial, however, and people invited to team projects are added to the team. Plan a separate check of production external collaboration rather than assuming a successful internal trial proves the guest experience.

Mobile work also needs a specific check. On iOS, Business users can change task timeline dates, but the Timeline view itself is unavailable. Billing and team management, plus recurring automation setup, require the web app; project duplication is unavailable on iOS. This distinction may be minor for a desk-based administrator and material for someone expected to manage complete project schedules from a phone.

Include your required connectors and support terms in the evaluation. Ask MeisterTask to demonstrate the import and connections your team needs, and confirm the support included in the proposed subscription.

Choosing MeisterTask or an alternative

MeisterTask's clearest appeal is the connection between visible workflow stages, task detail and configured handoffs, with Business extending the planning and permissions. It merits a trial when those are the parts of project coordination you most need to improve.

Asana is another option for assigned tasks and project coordination, with My Tasks and Inbox supporting individual follow-through. ClickUp brings tasks together with Docs, chat and dashboards if consolidating those activities is a larger priority. You can also compare the wider project management category before committing to a shortlist.

Use MeisterTask's Business trial to walk a real project through its stages, dates and participant roles. Then obtain the regional team quote and confirm how the planned external contributors will participate. That gives you a concrete basis for deciding whether its workflow suits your team.
